Today marks the start of the Squash Teams sunflower growing contest and its serious business !! Which team member will sprout first ? Whose will have grown the most by the Solstice ?

Join us in sunflower and spring growing fun this Friday 17th May

10am - 12 noon in the Grapes Garden (next to Toxteth TV)
2pm - 4pm outside Squash.

Sessions are free and open to all

We had such a beautiful evening at our FULL MOON FEAST on 24th April - a special night in which we celebrated the freshest of spring flavours and raised funds for SOUP-IT-FORWARD.

Over 50 guests joined us for a night of fabulous food a combination of Squash-made favourites with a new season focus - rhubarb fizz, nettle soup, wild garlic oil, green sauce and fresh mint tea and with inspiration from our patron, Chef Andi Oliver we cooked up a feast!

Big thanks to @kalocoband who serenaded under the full moon with spring fresh sounds

The feast was part of a special week of food offers at Squash as we took part in Liverpool's first Restaurant Week @liverpoolrestaurantweek

We will do this again soon !

Thanks to all who donated so generously we raised over £1000 for our SOUP-IT-FORWARD FUND. This initiative provides anyone in need of nourishment with a free soup during cafe opening hours. This scheme is supported through customers paying it forward and through fundraising with events like this throughout the year. We were blessed with the sunshine last Wednesday a

We were blessed with the sunshine last Wednesday as we celebrated Beltane in the garden. We truly felt the energy of Spring turning to Summer and noticed what was blossoming around us and within us.
We made May crowns using ivy and hawthorn symbol of healing, friendship, love and open-hearted communication.

We remembered with love and gratitude the long and beautiful life of Geoff Jenkins - a wonderful human who shared his skills and time so generously with Squash and many others.

And we danced - we wove together and then unravelled the maypole ribbons with energy, joy, laughter and skills that surprised us!

Thank you to everyone who came and brought and gave their magic selves.

Squash’s beautiful co-designed eco-hub on Windsor Street is 6 years old today! Our timber-framed, larch-clad home is a total stunner inside and out and the sum of many peoples creative vision, dedication, love and persistence.

Imagined by many from the early years of the 100-Year Street plan that began in 2010, to agreement & community design in 2014/15, to opening in 2018, this place has been host to much joy, is a space for ideas, playfulness & nurture, and where we can build a loving future together.

Enjoy a delicious spring dinner on full moon night! Chefs Edlira Bunga and Sean Paul Reading are excited to share the fresh tastes of the season with you, with inspiration from our wonderful patron Andi Oliver! Vegetarian and vegan, organic & ethical produce, including salad leaves, herbs & rhubarb from our own community gardens, locally foraged delights plus Squash made sourdough & cream cheese.

MENU:
- Rhubarb fizz

- Springy nettle soup w/wild garlic oil & sourdough focaccia

- Gozleme filled flatbread w/chard, leeks & feta plus our cream cheese & green sauce dip
- Beetroot & walnut salad
- L8 seakale, spring leaves & edible flowers

We’ll be serenaded by the wonderful world fusion folk band, Kaloco & weather permitting we’ll enjoy a song or 2 around the garden fire...

By dining with us you’ll be raising funds for ‘Soup-it-Forward’, Squash’s initiative supporting neighbours in need of nourishment. Anyone can get a delicious free soup during cafe opening hours, funded through customers paying it forward & through fundraising events like these!
